DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING HOME HISTORY

MARCH 2021: We are happy to report that we have paid off our credit card debts and New Life Counselors is now debt-free and investing more in outreach ministries than we have since we started building this home 7 years ago.  HALLELUJAH!  When people ask us how we are, we answer by saying "sorrowful yet always rejoicing".  Sorrowful for the difficulties old age has been causing us but joyful for what we are looking forward to since we have God's gift of eternal life and the wonderful future that He has planned for us.  We are eager to continue sharing Him with people from now on until He brings us into our full-time presence with Him.

JANUARY 2020: Final Phase: We obtained the certificate of occupancy in January 2020, through the miraculous help of our Heavenly Father.  We are now living in the home and are ministering to new disciples about how to get to know Jesus Christ and God the Father intimately. For those who are interested in helping us with our ministry's financial needs, we owe less than $8000 in credit card debt in order to be completely out of debt.

 

APRIL 2019: We have finished Phase 2 of the Disciples Training Home where "rising sons of God" will be trained to walk with the Lord full-time, and share Him in the "marketplaces" of this world, just as Jesus did when He was here on earth.  Jesus spent most of His time in the marketplaces of Israel, and He expects His modern-day apostles to do the same in their countries.

 

APRIL 2018 - It has been a very difficult year for us, but we have installed the air conditioning ductwork and the sheetrock, and are working on finishing the sheetrock soon, so we can paint the walls and ceilings.  Then we will work on the bathrooms and kitchen tile and cabinets.  The next phase after that will be the finish plumbing and electrical work.  Please be in prayer with us for the help we need to finish this home, and start taking in disciples who are eagerly waiting for the Lord's knowledge, understanding, and righteousness needed in order to go into the world and share Christ by the power of His Word and His Spirit.  ...God bless!

 

MAY 2017 - Praise the Lord! We have passed the framing inspection and may now proceed with the insulation work. Anyone who has the ability to help us with this will be greatly appreciated. We need someone with insulation experience. Please pray with us for the help we need to complete this phase of construction. ...God bless!

After 8 months and $15,000 in costs, we finally got our building permit from the Orange County Building Department in late August 2013.  We spent another $15,000 laying a solid foundation for the home.  So, Phase 1 was complete.  Some homeless men helped us finish Phase 2, and we are now looking to the Lord to pave the way for the completion of the house.  It was half done, when  we ran out of money.  As of today, we need at least $20,000 to finish the house and move in.  Please pray with us for the Lord's supply to come in soon, so we may get on with the task at hand.

As with most Christian building projects, volunteers and donations of money, materials, and tools are very important and greatly appreciated.  We are encouraged by the new volunteer offers we've received recently.  A Christian plumber offered to do the plumbing work at no labor cost, (praise the Lord!), but we had to buy the materials.  We also received the help of a Christian concrete contractor and some excellent foundation workers; and we received substantial discounts on concrete and other needed materials, such as concrete block, steel rebar and wire mesh, and the concrete itself.  Another Christian brother did the site work for free, and wouldn't even ask us for fuel money for his bobcat.  Another brother in Christ gave us a lot of asphalt millings for the driveway to the house, and paved the gate entrance for us.  We are very grateful for all the help that we have received.  Volunteers and donations are substantially reducing the cost of building the home, and every bit of help is a great blessing.
